Unique Entity
Yehu Microfinance Services Ltd (YMSL) provides a unique entity in the provision of financial services to the low segment of the market. It predominantly focuses on the rural poor of Kenya through an adapted Grameen group lending model.
Rapid Growth
This model has seen it rapidly grow in the Coastal Region of Kenya in the last 22 years and it has now successfully replicated the model in Eastern Region of Kenya with over 50,000 clients largely women and the youth, served through 15 branch outlets.
Focus
Yehu focuses on empowering socio-economically marginalized rural entrepreneurs through provision of financial literary and financing for creation and enhancing of businesses through loan products under: Business, Agriculture, Green energy, Asset, Micro-insurance, water & sanitation, education and consumer loans thereby improving their social and economic welfare.
Governance
Its Management is under Mr. Adet N. Kachi, a Microfinance Specialist and accomplished strategist who has been the driver of the rapid growth of the company experienced in the last 10 years, an average clientele growth rate of 40 per cent per annum.
Meet Our Executive Board Team
He is well endowed with strategic managerial skills besides being a microfinance expert. He has demonstrated empirical and theoretical hands on experience on Human Resource, Change Management, Financial and Risk Management as well as Corporate Management. Adet, is also a part time lecturer in a local University. He has served in several Boards in the microfinance industry e.g. Association of Microfinance Institutions, Kenya – AMFI, Association of Microfinance Professionals of Kenya – AMPK.
Mr. Adet is a holder of Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Additionally, has a strategic and leadership training at Harvard Business School (Boston-USA) and a Diploma in SMEs and Development awarded by Galilee College, Israel. He is pursuing a Doctorate degree in Business Administration in the area of strategic management and leadership at JKUAT.
He is a holder of Bachelor’s in appropriate technology from JKUAT and a holder of diploma in business administration from Kenya Institute of Management.
She works with teams of IT auditors in conducting comprehensive audits of the M-PESA system, Customer Support systems, Value Added Systems (VAS), IT infrastructure, Telecommunication systems, and Cloud platforms - which identifies and mitigates several risks. In addition, she provides project assurance, with a focus on digital maturity reviews and benefits validation.
Pamela holds a Bachelor of Science, Computer Science and Technology degree from Maseno University. She is a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE), and Certified Internal Audit Quality Assessor. She is a member of Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA)-Kenya Chapter, Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Kenya Chapter, Women on Boards Network (WOBN), and Institute of Directors Kenya.
She is a holder of Master’s in Business Administration (MBA – Finance option, Bachelors of Arts in Economics and Sociology – BA Economics and Sociology.
She is the head of risk management at Britam General Insurance, is a non-executive director of Solidaridad East and Central Africa and sits on the Africa Supervisory Board for the organization. Waceke holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) as well as various risk management certificates in operational risk and IT risk.
Waceke is a member of the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) and Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). She is also a full member of the Women on Boards Network in Kenya and a member of The Boardroom Africa Network.
Rose is a full member of the Women on Boards Network in Kenya, a Practicing member of the Institute of Human Resources Management (IHRM) and a member of The Boardroom Africa Network. She is also a Mentor under the Global Give Back Circle (GGBC) which is funded by Mastercard Foundation to provide mentorship to aspiring young leaders in Africa.
Currently Rose is the Head of Human Resources & Administration at Mastermind Tobacco Kenya Limited. She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Strathmore Business School, a Bachelor of Commerce Degree majoring in Management Science and Business Administration from Strathmore University and a Diploma in Human Resources from the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM). She has also undergone extension training in areas of Leadership, Performance Management, Change Management, Finance and Mentorship among others.
She is a Certified Secretary, a Certified Internal Audit Quality Assessor and an accredited Governance Auditor with distinct expertise in Corporate Governance, Risk Management, Finance management, Value Based Leadership and Internal Audit.
Anne is a holder of Master’s Degree in Business Administration from The University of Nairobi and is currently defending a Doctorate Degree at the same University focusing on ‘Gender Diversity in Boards, Board Capital, Firm Characteristics and Performance of Microfinance Institutions in Kenya.
